End Of The Week Or Beginning Of The Weekend?

It just occurred to me, is it the end of the week or the beginning of the weekend? I’ve not really thought about it before.

It might have something to do with what I was listening to earlier today. See, that’s a natural lead in to the next part which is filling in the blank I just made.

A natural segue then, maybe. I was listening to Gary Vaynerchuk and for those of you who don’t know who he is, just do a search and you’ll find a ton of content that he’s been putting out over the last goodness knows how long.

I’m not even sure what his title is, I do know that everything he’s doing at the moment is pointing him in the direction of being able to buy the New York Jets. Either way, he’s good value.

Anyway, he had a rant about those that can’t wait for Friday to come around. I’m trying hard to remember if I was ever like that and I think that I probably was but not for a very long time. I am excited about all the days, sad but true.

I would have been excited about the weekends when I was at school, that was until I went to a school that opened on Saturday mornings, that kind of kicked the love out of it.

Let’s face it, we now live in a perpetual life, in that the weekly structure seems to be blurred or at least a little fuzzier than it was twenty or so years ago, all the days seem to merge into one. Now, pretty much everything is open seven days a week.

Is it all based on job satisfaction? Maybe if you’re in a job you hate then the weekend can’t come too soon and if you are in that situation you might want to ask yourself why, not that it’s always possible to change, sometimes you have to play with the hand your dealt and be happy with it.

When I was really young I used to love Saturday mornings, it was the only day of the week that I wouldn’t have a problem getting out of bed and the television would be my first port of call, even though there were only three channels to choose from.

Even the dubbed shows kept me entertained, remember ‘The Flashing Blade’?As a treat and just to show that it can’t be said that I never give you anything, watch “A trip back, if you grew up in the 70's” it’s fourteen minutes of nostalgia, see if it brings back any happy memories from the days of bad haircuts.

Anyway, the weekend is here now, enjoy.
