Creme Eggs Anyone?

Just remembered what I wanted to write about, sometimes I have the thought and by the time I get to sit down and write, it’s gone.

Well, this time around I managed to write down a few notes, so let's see where they take us.

I have a favourite confectionary and it’s one that took me by surprise, I mean I have always liked them but they are seasonal so I tend to forget about them.

I’m talking about ‘Cadbury’s Creme Eggs’, it’s even more unusual as I don’t usually eat milk chocolate. …

Slow Down And Pay Attention

I heard the line ‘slow down and pay attention’ this morning, I mean, I have heard it before but for some reason, it’s only just resonated in a way that made me think about it more.

It also reminded me of the line from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, where the headmaster is talking to Ferris’s mother and he says something like “Wake up and smell the coffee, Mrs Bueller”

Maybe it doesn’t have exactly the same meaning behind the words but it was a nice memory. …

More storms than calm

When I think about the phrase ‘the calm before the storm’ I wonder whether the opposite is actually more fitting. Maybe that’s because there seem to be more storms than calm these days.

I always know when life is more turbulent than normal as the writing suffers. They do say, whoever ‘they’ are, that you should refrain from penning when your mood is off-kilter and for the most part I agree.

More than once I have had to delete large chunks of prose after reading back and realising that more than just ink has been transferred onto the paper.

Still…

A New Way To Solve Problems
A New Way To Solve Problems

Now, just so you know, I wasn’t actively looking for a solution to any of the problems I have currently.

Actually, I don’t have anything on my mind that needs to be attended to, certainly not anything that I would consider a problem.

That’s not to say that there aren’t various aspects of my life that I would like to improve upon, it’s just that I don’t think of them as problems, per se.

This is one of those occasions when a whisper of serendipity has graced my day.

I intended to write a post this afternoon once I had…

Frustration Leads To Clarity

Yesterday was a washout, well, truth be told, it was productive, it just felt like a wasted day.

No one else to blame, it was my own fault but even in those circumstances I am always looking to take something positive, yesterday was one of those situations.

Today is a direct result of that, it’s why I’m writing now and not waiting till later. (It also means that it will be warm when I go outside after finishing this post)

Apart from my normal daily duties, I had one item on my ‘to do’ list, secure a replacement seatbelt in…

Are You Utilising Your Negative Voice

“Are you utilising your negative voice” was probably written on a chalkboard somewhere with the word ‘discuss’ underneath and underlined.

Following on from my last post ‘End Of The Week Or Beginning Of The Weekend?’ this is another item that was on Tom Bilyeu’s list. This time there were no notes after it so I’m wingin’ it this morning.

I kind of know what he means, or at least I think I do. Oftentimes we are able to use the negative to spur us on in certain situations.

There are enough naysayers around without having that voice in our heads…

It just occurred to me, is it the end of the week or the beginning of the weekend? I’ve not really thought about it before.

It might have something to do with what I was listening to earlier today. See, that’s a natural lead in to the next part which is filling in the blank I just made.

A natural segue then, maybe. …

Now Is As Good A Time As Any

Kind of following on from my last post ‘So, You Want To Be A Writer’ at least the part about just getting on and doing stuff.

Whether that’s being a writer or painting the bathroom (Apparently that’s on the list) it all comes down to making that decision in the here and now.

Anyway, I have been trying to create a routine, a daily one, but so far I’m coming up short. One thing I know for sure is that I am not procrastinating, well, not on a conscious level anyway.

I finished my last post and published it, faffed…

So, you want to become a writer.
So, you want to become a writer.

Not sure if it’s a statement or a question? Well, there’s no question mark at the end so it must be a statement, possibly even rhetorical. Certainly, no one has ever asked me if I want to become a writer and it’s not something I consciously remember saying to myself.

Even now I’m not sure if that’s the path I want to trudge down, it looks kind of lonely and long.

Why has this surfaced from the depths of my inner quagmire? (Giggity giggity) I am subscribed to Evan Carmichael’s YouTube channel and for those of you who don’t know…

Ready Player One? or Leadership and Self-deception?
Ready Player One? or Leadership and Self-deception?

Too much punctuation there but I wanted the first part to be a question. A question within a question, like a wheel within a wheel, never-ending or beginning, on an ever spinning reel?

Eclectic writing, is that even a thing? Who knows, not I, that’s for sure. As for ‘Ready Player One’, well that’s my current dinner time viewing, it whiles away a few minutes as morsels are being consumed, what more can I say.

My day took a slide, a detour from the strategic plan that I had laid out, which was a little disappointing but I got past…
